Harleigh’s years of professional expertise give her the instinct to choose horses that meet the need of each individual rider. She’s invested in a stable that meets individuals at their comfort level. Harleigh’s desire for sharing the joy and growth she herself has gained from working with, and riding horses, had her create this introductory offer for new riders. You won’t find a lower rate anywhere in the area!
This current offer won’t be around forever. We recommend you take advantage of it now — and let your child find out from personal experience if working with, and riding horses, is their passion, too!
The riding school serves all ages and abilities, designed specifically for riders who intend on riding at least once or twice a week. MHRA does not offer single lessons.
What will you need on your first day?
You should wear long pants and a boot with a heel such as a hiking boot. No cowboy boots or high heels please. You will also need a riding helmet that is ATSM/SEI approved. It is important to be properly fitted for your helmet. It does not need to be expensive. Marin Tack & Feed is offering a 10% discount to all MHRA students so please drop in and ask for Jessica for all your apparel needs! She is nearby and happy to help.
What is your billing policy?
MHRA works with a monthly billing cycle through QuickBooks.
The commitment is to ride once, twice and/or add beginning jump tuition if you are ready to start that process. $460 or $920 respectively. All lessons must be consumed in the month they are purchased or they will be forfeit. No exceptions.
All January lessons must be taken in the month of January, for instance. There will be no carry over to the next month. Much like a gym membership, or a timeshare you will be billed monthly.
What happens if it rains? You will need to schedule a make-up lesson in that month.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancelation policy for the lesson program: There are no penalties for canceling a lesson. Your commitment is to ride four or eight times per month. We recommend for make-up lessons that you take them back-to-back to reduce extra trips to the facility. It is requested that all make-ups are scheduled in the same month. You are in control of your schedule through the autonomy of the Bookeo booking application.
Cancelation policy for camps: MHRA will refund 50% of deposit prior to April 10th, 2023. On May 15th, 2023, all balances due for summer camps will be charged to the card on file. At that point, should you be unable to attend your camp session, MHRA will do its best to accommodate make-up dates for camp based on space available — or convert camp to a month of lessons. However, funds will not be refunded.
Can you accommodate physical limitations?
We ask you to please advise us at the time you make your appointment of any physical limitations that may affect your ability to ride. Please call 415-686-5286.
PLEASE NOTE THAT MHRA IS NOT A CERTIFIED EQUINE THERAPY RIDING CENTER FOR “SPECIAL NEEDS RIDERS”. UNDER FEDERAL REGULATIONS ALL RIDING CENTERS PARTICIPATING IN EQUINE THERAPY AND THEIR EMPLOYEES MUST BE LICENSED, INSURED AND CERTIFIED BY “EQUINE ASSISTED ACTIVITY THERAPY” (EAAT) AND THE “PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION OF THERAPY HORSEMAN INTERNATIONAL “(PATH).
